In 2009, Taylor Bros was awarded a contract worth more than $25 million with the Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) project to supply outfit accommodation products for the Hobart Class AWDs. In 2013 another contract was awarded to install the supplied outfit accommodation materials and equipment into the AWDs.
This project involves the supply and installation of galley, pantry, scullery, laundry equipment, and the fabrication of ship’s furniture. Prefabrication took place in Hobart before being shipped to Adelaide for installation. Prefabrication included modular cabins, meeting rooms, mess areas, sanitary, office, and medical spaces. The scope also includes detailed design of prefabricated spaces, extensive documentation and integrated logistic support products for all supplies.
